This course includes a compete study of the Vermont license law, Administrative rules, and miscellaneous statutes identified for study by the Vermont Real Estate Commission .

Continuing Education

This course is also approved by the Vermont Real Estate Commission for EIGHT (8) clock hours toward satisfying the requirements for renewal or reactivation of a VT real estate broker or salesperson license.  This course is ideal for TRAINING of newer agents and for BRUSHING UP on the requirements and issues relating to VT practice for more experienced agents.

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION

Study will be completed in a classroom setting through completion of RMSOR’s course entitled “Vermont Law Study” which involves a total of eight (8) hours of lecture and discussion.  A slide presentation is used to supplement the outline with details and examples.  When time allows, this course may include up to one hour of classroom coached study to reinforce information.  This is an alternative instruction method involving
various types of short answer, multiple choice, check box, and fill-in-the-blanks questions designed to reinforce details of the laws as well as proper application of the laws.  The questions are projected on a screen and discussed in class.

COURSE CONTENT

Part 1: Vermont Real Estate License Law & Rules – 4 hours, 30 minutes (Prohibitions, Requirement of a License, The Vermont Real Estate Commission, Unprofessional Conduct, Registrations and Licenses, Other Issues Regarding Licenses, Business Models in Vermont, Required Conduct of Licensee, Service Agreements, Other Rules of Conduct, Material Facts Disclosure);  Part 2: Summary of Vermont Laws Relating to Real Estate Transactions – 3 hours, 30 minutes (Act 250 – State Land Use Control, Environmental Protection Rules – Chapter 1 re Wastewater System and Potable Water Supply, Municipal and Regional Planning and Development – Zoning, On-Premise Signs, Discrimination and Fair Housing, Residential Rental Agreement Law, Vermont Property Transfer Tax, Vermont Land Gains Tax, Vermont Real Estate Withholding Tax, Conveyance of Real Estate)
