2010-2012 Mandatory Course  (Vermont Only)

Course Duration: 4 hours

This is the REQUIRED COURSE for Vermont real estate agents renewing licenses in March 2012 (Brokers) or May 2012 (Salespersons).

This course is subtitled: "Situations Which May Constitute Unprofessional Conduct" and is divided into ten topics selected by the Commission to demonstrate common areas of practice concern.  A special section is included on RESPA.  The course is designed to be highly interactive.  Inquiry, comment, and active discussion is encouraged from participants.  The course includes a bound manual.

Myths About Easements

Course Duration: 4 hours

This is an elective real estate course which first reviews the basic Vermont law of easements and then identifies 17 common misunderstandings (myths) and pitfalls among real estate agents regarding easements.  Suggested strategies are developed for both the seller and buyer agent.  Discussion among participants is encouraged through questions and problems.  This course includes a bound manual.

Vermont Real Estate Buyer Broker Series - Part 1

Course Duration: 4 hours

This is an elective real estate course which is co-authored and co-taught by Randy Mayhew, a Vermont attorney, and Lynne M. LaBombard, GRI, ABR, C-CREC, a long time exclusive buyer agent.  This course covers buyer brokerage as practiced in Vermont from the initial contact with the prospective client to the point where the real estate brokerage firm is hired and there is a written service agreement.  This course includes a bound manual.

Vermont Real Estate Buyer Broker Series - Part 2

Course Duration: 4 hours

This is an elective real estate course which is co-authored and co-taught by Randy Mayhew, a Vermont attorney, and Lynne M. LaBombard, GRI, ABR, C-CREC, a long time exclusive buyer agent.  This course is second in a series.  This course covers buyer brokerage as practiced in Vermont from acceptance of agency to due diligence and selection of property.  This course includes a bound manual.

Course Fee:  $85

Due Diligence 101

Course Duration: 2 hours

This is an elective real estate course which includes a discussion of current law and theory relating to due diligence followed by review of six (6) case studies designed to put theory into practice by reviewing specific due diligence requirements in cases involving properties enrollment in current use, apartment buildings, condominiums, acreage requirements, ancient roads, foreclosure properties being sold "as is", properties affected by land gains tax liens, properties using innovative septic systems, and properties with zoning violations.

The Mandatory Course / 2008 - 2010 Renewal  (Fill out inquiry form to request a complete, detailed description of this course)  THIS IS THE OLD MANDATORY COURSE WHICH IS NOW ONLY RELEVANT TO THOSE REACTIVATING THEIR LICENSE FROM A LAPSE OR LATE RENEWAL.  The current Mandatory Course is described above.

Duration: 4 hours 

This is the mandatory real estate course for renewals that occurred in 2010. The course includes discussion and case studies relating to amended and existing rules and the regulatory aspects of buyer brokering.

This course is only offered in connection with reactivation of license on a limited basis.  Special pricing applies.  Send Inquiry Form for detailed description.
